The CCGA (NL) is a non-profit volunteer organization used to augment the search and rescue resources in the Newfoundland and Labrador Region. The CCGA works in conjunction with the Canadian Coast Guard.

“The prevention of loss of life and/or injury at sea, including, where possible and directly related thereto, reasonable efforts to minimize damage to or loss of property.”

Its members and their vessels respond to search and rescue incidents in the waters around Newfoundland and Labrador.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a permanent day and night search and rescue service to cover marine requirements in the Newfoundland and Labrador region and prevent the loss of life and injury

To fulfill this mission, our objectives are to :

  • Save 100% of lives at risk
  • Reduce the number and severity of SAR incidents
  • Promote marine safety
  • Support the Canadian Coast Guard
  • Provide a humanitarian service
  • Maintain the highest professional standards
  • Promote dedication and pride of membership
